Land Use Mapping in Bucharest Surveying and mapping land use is a fundamental skill for geographers and environmentalists. The aim of this exercise was to investigate and map the land use in a part of the old city centre of Bucharest. Students were asked to use the classifications listed below. These are based on a classification system devised by the Geographical Association and the Institiute of Terrestrial Ecology for a national land use survey in Britain in 1996.
