VIRTUAL MONTANA
Activities
1999-2000
Virtual Montana has
undertaken the following activities:-
- Two meetings of the entire project team have been
undertaken and two virtual meetings between partners have also been
achieved.
- The work plan has been established and the final
programme of activities determined.
- The aims and activities have been clarified.
- The reporting structure, including interim reports,
have been set in place by the coordinator, this has included the financial
reporting systems and deadlines. All these have been met so far.
- Copyright-free materials have been collected, this
aspect is continuing, the volume of available resources appears to
be much greater than originally anticipated. Where needed resources
have been digitised.
- Database is being created and tested and data is
being input.
- The Web site has been established. Web materials
are being created. Student use of the site has been planned and prepared
(evaluation and piloting included). The student evaluation process
prepared. Pilot CD ROM of the Web site prepared.
- Teachers have been contacted and prepared for external
evaluation.
- Project and product dissemination has been planned
by all partners
- Dissemination has already been undertaken at a number
of local and national conferences and international meetings.
- An article developing the eWeb concepts has been
written and published.
- Leaflets and bookmarks have been prepared, translated
and produced by partners.
- Posters for conference dissemination are being prepared.
- Articles about the project and its development have
been identified.
- Further collaboration in curriculum, ODL and other
areas has been discussed and applications submitted.
Outcomes
Virtual Montana seeks to
achieve the following outcomes:-
- to involve higher education, a fieldwork association
and consultant teachers in a collaborative European ODL project
- to establish a Web site with valuable ODL information
- to initiate a searchable multimedia information base
on fieldwork in mountain environments
- to establish the framework for collaboration on further
European initiatives
