Personal data: borne on the 1st June 1944, Santelec village, Bihor department, married, one child, Romanian nationality. Graduated at the Geography Faculty of the Bucharest University, specialization Geomorphology - Cartography, promotion 1970, obtaining the maximum mark at the first-degree final examination. Doctor in geography science, since 1986, distinction granted by the University of Bucharest for the geomorphology analysis of the hydrographical basin of Hârtibaciu.

Specializations: doctoral studies of geomorphology between 1978 and 1986.

Professional Activity: teacher of geography and history at the General School of Daia commune (Giurgiu department), 1970-1976; specialist editor and editor in chief at the Romanian Academy Publishing House (1976-1997); associated teacher at the Ecology University (1991-1992) and at the Bucharest University (1992-1993), lecturer, position occupied by examination (October 1993 - October 1995; reader (1995-1999) and, since 1999, professor.

Scientific contributions on geographical matters : definition of the morphohydrological research in the temperate zones of with table-land relief; establish the age of the land slide from the Transylvania Depression; determination of the average rate of the denudation of the hydrographical basins; the levelling surfaces from the hills and table-land regions; evolution of the hydrographical network; the synthesis about the levelling surfaces of the Apuseni Mounts; the geomorphological phenomena of risk, the dynamic of the versants; the relation between the settlements and the relief; the methods for the elaboration of the maps of risk from the geomorphological point of view ; the potential use of lands; quantitative analysis in the geomorphology dynamic of the versants and the dynamic of the river bed, the contributions to the history of the geographical thoughts.
