| On rocks close to the waterfall (and an outcrop to the left) are typical alpine plants, found only in small areas close to high areas. They are associated with lime-rich conditions of open areas and young soils, which have not had time to have their nutrients leached out by rainfall. Crossing the foot of Idwal Slabs (the great sloping wall) is a heavily eroded gully formed in 1964 by a local cloudburst. |
