View E from entrance to Cwm Idwal cirque (near outlet stream of Llyn Idwal) towards Cwm Clyd and Y-Garn peak (947m) at the head of the backwall. Cwm Clyd forms one of the Northern Glyderau cirques present on the W flank of the Nant Ffrancon valley. More typical form of the Northern Glyderau cirques, last excavated during the Loch Lomond Stadial. Llyn Idwal in the foreground with prominent lateral moraines of Cwm Idwal on the far margin of the tarn.
